LATINISTA™ Fashion Week started in 2011 with IMAN Cosmetics & Latina Magazine and it is now on its 4th year. Dee Rivera , the Founder of Latinista + Latinista Fashion week says, "the goal was to give high-end designers an opportunity to be  discovered as well as give  new Latino/Latina designers a platform to show their collections during New York Fashion Week"  "We have grown rapidly and now it becomes one of the running and successful fashion platforms during New York Fashion Week not just for Hispanics but for fashion insiders as well. Celebrity Designer Cesar Galindo who joined the runway in 2013 caught the vision and has now joined forces and collaborated with LATINISTA™ to take it to new levels. As well as other designers such as Project Runway designer Shantall Lacayo, + Layanna Aguilar, Celebrity Designers, Chris Barreto, Cenia Paredes and many others!

Dee Rivera has become the Latina Anna Wintour for LATINISTA™ Fashion Week and  featured Cesar Galindo archive of his work January 2015 at the Historic El Museo Del Barrio sponsored by Ralph Pucci and was the first designer to do an exhibit at the museum.

Artists

JENNY ALEXANDRA

Words from the Artist

"I am an abstract artist from the Bronx with Ecuadorian roots. I mostly work with acrylic ink and watercolors, I tend to focus on abstract geometrical patterns attempting to convey emotions with these different colors and patterns. I like to focus on mental health awareness by making pieces that people can connect and resonate with where they can take something away from and maybe reflect with themselves or just at a time in their daily life. My logo is enrealment and that also is about my beliefs and what I try to get across. This idea “enrealment” is about focusing on both the light and dark sides of life not just being enlightened with the blissful side of life but also have enrealment where one is in all aspects of reality at once and i really resonate with that, I like to embrace the dark parts of life as much as the happy ones and just embrace what makes us human beings, it is a struggle but i still believe its beautiful and I hope my art embodies that."
